Eng Aik Meng is the Vice President for APL's Intra Asia,Middle
East and Australia Trades.In this role he is responsible
for a US$750mil trade that serves more than 30 countries,offering
direct service between the Far East,the Middle East,the
Indian Subcontinent and Africa,along with several APL-operated
terminals.This is the second largest and one of the fastest
growing trades in the APL network.
Prior to this ,Aik Meng was the Vice President of the Strategic
Planning Department for the NOL Group,APL's parent company.He
was responsible for supporting Senior Management decision-making
as well as merger and acquisition activities,competitor
benchmarking,formulation of long-term plans and investment
analysis.
Aik Meng joined NOL in 1993 as part of the management trainee
programme,beginning his career as an Accountant in the North
American Liner trade.Since then he has held a variety of
positions in the company throughout Asia in areas including
corporate finance,strategic planning and joint venture operations.
Aik Meng holds a B.Acc(Hons)degree from Nanyang Technological
University and a MBA from Harvard University.
