Mr. Michael Borch

Michael is based in JPMorgan's Hong Kong office. His current responsibilities include developing strategic advisory and capital market businesses with industrial and transportation companies in the Asia-Pacific region.
During 2004 Michael has advised on Royal P&O Nedlloyd's €190 million Right Issue, Noble Group's US$200 million convertible bond offering and Mando Corporation's US$200 million Senior Secured Notes. During 2003 Michael has advised on a number of landmark transactions, including Thai Airways International's US$514 million follow-on offering, Genting Berhad's US$300mm bond exchangeable into shares of Resorts World Bhd, Star Cruises' combined USR180 million convertible bond and US$100 million rights offering, Neptune Orient Lines' US$1.1 billion disposal of American Eagle Tankers, and Daewoo Shipbuilding And Marine Engineering US$240 million global GDR offering. In prior years Michael has completed multiple transactions including M&A and capital raisings for European transportation companies including Inter Alia, AP Moller, Bergesen, Stena, Tsakos, Lauritzen & Pan Oceanic. Michael joined JPMorgan in 1987 and has been based in Oslo, London and New York covering transportation companies. He transferred to Hong Kong from London in 2001 to assume his role as Co-Head of General Industries for the Asia-Pacific region. He has previously held the positions of Head of European Shipping and Global Head of Logistics at JPMorgan. Michael's primary focus continues to be transportation companies in Asia Pacific and globally.
A native of Denmark, Michael is a graduate in Politics and Philosophy from the University of Warwick, Coventry, England, and has a Masters degree in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland, US.
